Schools requiring I.D. cards on disply
I am a student at a high school. Our high school is now demanding students to have their I.D. cards with their first and last name and their student I.D. number out in plain sight. School policy is that we have to wear our I.D. cards to show who goes to school and who doesn't.
Any student who refuses to wear their I.D. cards can be punished with detentions and suspensions.
School policy also requires teachers to discreatly display any information such as grades. However, the I.D. cards have our I.D. number which makes all that information accessable to anyone who has that number. It also alsos someone else to access information such as computer log in data and lunch purchase codes.
I personally think the manditory display of identification cards is a violation of personal rights and freedom. I also beleive that it is a violation of privacy.
I know for a fact that this is not the first school to start doing this. Dozens of schools on every corner of the United States, U.K., and other countries.
To anyone who reads t his that either attends Modesto High School or knows someone who does. Tell them to meet in front of the school at 7:20 am on December 5th, 2011 to show a peaceful demonstration of protest to this rule.
